Sparkling tradition and bubbling success
The history of Henkell Trocken goes right back to the very beginning of
the German sparkling wine industry. It was Adam Henkell, the wine merchant, who
founded the Henkell & Cie wine shop as early as 1832. At that time the
production of sparkling wine was still an art whose secrets had only been
mastered by a few craftsmen. Henkell became familiar with the craft of making
sparkling wines in France. In 1856, 150 years ago today, he began creating
sparkling wines in Germany.
Germany's best-known sparkling wine brand Henkell Trocken is an exceptional phenomenon in the international market
for German sparkling wines. In surveys, the brand achieves the highest profile
among all sparkling wines - and has been well appreciated as the classical
German sparkling wine for decades. This brand leader is now presenting itself
on the market once more with even greater vigour.
The continued success of Henkell products over decades is the result of
some loving product and brand management. The quality of the final product is
permanently assured by the expertise and know-how of the wine purchasers and
vintners. Our consumers are never disappointed, and Henkell Trocken has
become a byword for consistent quality.
